Privacy

Last updated 22 August 2026

This policy is short because Nekopomo collects very little. There are no analytics, no tracking scripts, no advertising and no cookies, and nothing about your use of Nekopomo is shared with anyone for marketing. If you have a question about any of it, write to hello@nekopomo.com.

By default everything stays on your device. Your finished sessions, your settings and your chosen companion are stored in your own browser, and Nekopomo works with no account and no connection — in that state nothing about your focus sessions reaches us at all. Clearing site data for Nekopomo in your browser erases it.

If you create an account

An account exists so your history can follow you to another device. Making one means we store your email address and a username, a record of each finished interval, and a note of what you have bought so paid companions stay unlocked. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and we never see it.

Each interval we keep is a set of numbers: when it started and ended, how long it was meant to last, how long it actually ran, how long you were away from the tab, an anonymous identifier for the device, and your timezone offset at the time. We do not record what you were working on — a session is a duration, not a description. Before you create an account Nekopomo still signs you in anonymously so the service has an identifier to work with, and that anonymous identity is not linked to you as a person.

We hold all of this either because it is necessary to provide what you asked for — running your account, syncing between devices, unlocking what you paid for — or because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the service working and honest, which covers rate limiting and basic abuse checks.

Three providers process data on our behalf: Supabase for the database and authentication, Netlify for hosting and the API, and Stripe for payments. Stripe is the merchant of record and handles your payment details directly, so we never see your card number. These providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.

Your session history is kept while your account exists, because it is the history you asked us to keep. Ask us to delete your account and we remove it along with everything attached to it, though records of payments are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@nekopomo.com and we will respond within one month. If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change affects you, say so in the app.
